About the Artists
Chris Tate
Christopher Tate is a modern jazz cellist, improviser, educator, and recording artist redefining the role of the cello in contemporary music. Based in Boston, Tate has quickly emerged as a distinctive voice on the instrument—bridging classical and jazz tradition, modern improvisation, and contemporary string playing with a highly personal sound. He has performed and collaborated with acclaimed artists across today’s jazz landscape, including Victor Wooten, Tony Trischka, and Eddie Barbash.
Keefer Glenshaw
Keefer is a cellist and performance artist based in Boston, MA. As a cellist, Keefer tours as a solo act, known for his mastery of the loop pedal, and with his band, The Romance. His command over a multitude of styles has allowed him to perform and record with artists such as Jeezy, Rick Ross, Usher, G-Eazy, and The Wooten brothers. As a performance artist, Keefer live-streamed two 24-hour endurance pieces, “Intention / Desire” and “Purification Process”, which garnered press from The Boston Globe and Channel 7 news. Keefer recently graduated from Berklee College of Music.
